Requirements

Scribe Insight 7.0 or later Users also need to install the following Insight 7.0.0 Hotfix D3455, particularly if you are using the NAV-to-CRM Template which uses delimiters in their key-cross reference tables. The hotfix fixes the issue where the new xrefLookupLock functions are returning an empty string when no matching row is found in the KEYCROSSREFERENCETWOWAY table. Applying this fix results in a “#NULL!” being returned in the described scenario. This hotfix also addresses the issue where lookups using key values (either APP_A_KEY or APP_B_KEY) that contain only delimiters always find no matching rows in the KEYCROSSREFERENCETWOWAY table. Please read the documentation that is packaged with this hotfix for further details. This fix will also be incorporated in the upcoming Insight v7.0.1 release.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV version 6.0/2009, 6.0/2009 SP1, 5.0, 5.0 Service Pack 1, or 4.0 Service Pack 3. You may need to have the Microsoft Dynamics NAV client license upgraded to support the Scribe NAV Granule. If that is the case, you will need to contact your regional Microsoft AOC & request that the Microsoft Dynamics NAV client license be upgraded to include granule ID: 14094210 titled “Scribe NAV Adapter”

A dedicated NAS license for each company to be integrated.

One or more C/FRONT licenses for Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

1

Microsoft Dynamics NAV provides C/FRONT libraries for communication. Microsoft does not certify that those libraries are compatible with 64 bit operating systems. Therefore, Scribe Insight may or may not work properly when installed on a 64 bit operating system and connecting to a Dynamics NAV system. If you are connecting to a Dynamics NAV system, you should install Scribe on a 32 bit operating system to ensure that you are running in a supported configuration.

If you are using integration templates provided by Scribe, always check to verify that your template is compatible with this updated adapter. You can verify this information by reading the release notes for your template. You can also check release information in OpenMind for up-to-date information .

What’s new in version 1.4 Features Version 1.4 of the Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a technical alignment with Scribe Insight 7.0. Support for N AV 2009 SP1

Version 1.4 of the Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV now formally supports Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1. The related C/Front bits are now part of the Adapter install & users will no longer need to manually copy them to the appropriate place on the Scribe server.

Upgrade Considerations If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, it is important to refer to the Reference topic “Upgrade check list” in the AdapterForDynamicsNAV Help document (located under Program Files\Scribe) for changes you will need to make.

Description

The Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation program, Scribe Adapter NAV NAS.msi, does not verify that the computer on which the adapter is being installed has the correct version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV installed on it. If the computer does not have the correct version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV installed, the adapter will not work. It is up to you to verify that the computer on which you are installing the adapter has a supported version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV installed on it. Supported

Publisher fails to process messages with problem XML chars in its keys. This issue will be considered for a future release. When the NAV Adapter attempts to delete records from the Scribe Publisher Queue table, an error is logged in the Event Viewer (“Error: The Scribe Publisher Queue table cannot be changed because it is locked by another user.”); and the records will not be removed. This will result in those messages re-used over and over again; creating more traffic than is necessary. Review the OpenMind knowledge base article for more information about this issue: https://openmind.scribesoftware.com/topics/489

When using NAV adapter, system looks to hang. Looking in the task manager, the Scribe.NavAdapter.NAVCFrontHost.exe is consuming more and more memory and eventually maxes out system resources. This is an issue with the Dynamics NAV product. Microsoft Dynamics NAV team has a hot fix for this issue. Refer to the OpenMind knowledge base article for more information about this issue: https://openmind.scribesoftware.com/topics/458 Messages from the Microsoft Dynamics NAV publisher with a filter associated do not work if you change the filter definition.

As a workaround, before changing the filter definition for an integration using Microsoft Dynamics NAV, first ensure there are no outstanding messages in the related Microsoft Dynamics NAV PubIn queue and then make changes to the filter definition. Upgrading from NAV Adapter v1.0.6 may cause problems when using the NAV Publisher.

After executing the custom action ConvertSalesQuote against a NAV 6.0 system, the following error is raised in the NAV client when attempting to enter quotes: “The Sales Header does not exist. Identification fields and values: Document Type ='Quote', No.= 'xxx' Document Type: Quote, No.: xxx. Refer to the OpenMind knowledge base article for more information about this issue: https://openmind.scribesoftware.com/topics/854 Prior to this new adapter version, using the Dynamics NAV <> Dynamics CRM template 1.2 to publish Sales Orders out of the Dynamics NAV Role-Tailored client (which is only available in Dynamics NAV versions 6.0 and later) required users to change the template’s Dynamics NAV publisher to filter from a value of “1” to a value of “Released”, allowing them to only publish out of the Role-Tailored client.

With Scribe Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 1.4, this is no longer necessary, as the publisher will now receive these messages with a status of “1” from both clients. As such, if you had changed your publisher to filter on “Released”, you will need to change it back to “1” to successfully publish out of both the Role-Tailored and Classic clients.
