Entry Requirements 1) What are the entry requirements for the University of London LLB External programme? The entry requirements are 4 SPM credits (including English) and 2 A Level or STPM principals or equivalent; recognised diplomas or degrees 2) Is there a graduate entry route to the course? Yes, there is a graduate entry route and you may be able to get 3 exemptions but it is advisable for candidates to do all 12 subjects if they intend to practice law in Malaysia as this a requirement of the Legal Proffesion Qualifying Board of Malaysia for entry into the CLP examinations. 3) Can I enrol as a mature student, and if so, am I exempted from the A Levels requirement? Yes, you may register as a mature student if you have relevant working experience and may get exemptions for the A Levels.

4) What is the duration of the LLB External programme? The LLB programme takes 3 years to complete. 5) Is there a fast track route to complete the course earlier than the normal 3 years? Yes there is a graduate entry route, which enables you to finish the course within 2 years, but you will not be able to practice as a lawyer in Malaysia. 6) Can I complete the entire course in Malaysia? Yes, the entire course can be completed at Brickfields Asia College, Malaysia. 7) Is there a stipulated duration set by the University of London for me to finish the course? You would have 4 years to complete the course after you have completed the intermediate level (Year 1)

Recognition 1) What is the recognition given to the University of London External degree? The University of London External Law degree is an internationally recognized degree and is also recognized by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia. 2) Will I be able to secure any other job besides practicing as a lawyer? The UOL External Law Degree is a versatile degree and is much sought after by the insurance, banking and finance industries, in the construction industry as well as in enforcement and politics, to name a few.

Course Details 1) Does the college conduct these courses on a full time basis or do you also have part time classes? Brickfields Asia College conducts the University of London External Law Programme on a full time, part time as well as via distance learning. 2) Are there any differences between the full time classes and the part time classes? There is no difference between the full time and the part time classes be it in contact hours, lecturers, tutorials, as well as materials. The only difference will be in the timing of lectures and tutorials. 3) When are the intakes generally conducted? The intakes are generally held every January, March, June and September.

Registration 1) When do I have to register with the University of London? Registration is generally conducted in September in Malaysia. Representatives of the University of London will come down to Kuala Lumpur to register the students. 2) Should I wait until the University of London has accepted me before commencing the course? As long as you have the minimum entry requirements you can register with BAC as the University of London will accept you.

Fees / Finance

1) What is the approximate cost for the entire programme? The entire costs for the LLB External programme including the college fees, UOL application fee; UOL registration fees, and examination fees are in the region of RM40,000.00 over 3 years. If you do intend to sit for the CLP it would cost you another RM10,000.00 (including RM4,000 for the registration and examination fee payable to the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia. 2) Are there any easy payment schemes available? Yes, there are monthly instalment schemes and 0% interest installment payment plans available. 3) Does the college help me in securing finance if I am in need of it? There are various modes of payment and financial options available. These include PTPTN loans, bank loans and EPF withdrawals (either from personal or from the parents accounts).

Examinations 1) How are the examinations conducted? The examinations are held every May/June and the assessments are 100% exam based. 2) Where is the examinations held? The examinations are held in the capitals of most states in Malaysia, 3) What if I fail in one paper? If you have marginally failed in your examinations then you may at the discretion of the University of London be allowed to re-sit the exams in November of that year 4) What if I failed the examinations? Then you would have to re-sit the examinations in the following year.
