Tux Paint Quick Start Guide •

When the program begins you must select a background color. Choose white unless you are creating an underwater scene. Double-click the background color to begin.

Use the Paint tool to draw lines. Use the Stamp tool to add premade graphics. Use the Magic tool to add special images – grass, flowers, and more. Use the Undo tool to wipe-out your last action.

Don’t like the colors you see here? Click the oval on the far right to create your own special color.



Cool things to do using tools: Paint – Use special paint brushes to create instant flowers and leaves for trees and bushes. Change the colors of the flowers and leaves for variety and then add stems to finish.

Magic – Here are some of the special tools found in Magic. Some tools cover the whole page (snowball, snowflakes string edges). Some Magic tools are used to change what you’ve already drawn (smudge, blur, blocks, mosaic, glass blocks, ripples, fish eye and more).

Stamp - This tool gives you premade graphics to add to your picture: animals, buildings, common objects, people, trucks, and more.

These arrows allow you to scroll through a library.

These arrows switch libraries. Horizontal flip

The bars change the size of the stamp. The more bars, the bigger the image.
