INTERNSHIP VACANCY TITLE: CNFA/LADA YOUTH INTERN LOCATIONS: BONG, NIMBA, LOFA & MONTSERRADO COUNTIES PROJECT: Liberia Agribusiness Development Activities (LADA) DURATION: SIX (6) MONTHS Introduction: CNFA is a US-based nonprofit nongovernmental organization (NGO) that works to stimulate economic growth and improve rural livelihoods in the developing world by empowering the private sector. The Liberia Agribusiness Development Activity (LADA) is being implemented by Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) and is supported and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the United States Feed the Future (FTF) Program. The goal of LADA is to increase the income of smallholder farmers through private sector investment. LADA activity takes place in four counties Bong, Nimba, Lofa & Upper Montserrado and focuses on three components, namely: C1: C2: C3:

Increase private sector investment in agriculture inputs Increase private sector investment in post-harvest handling support, packaging, marketing, storage and auxiliary services, Strengthened facilitation, market information, advocacy and support.

LADA works to expand commercially sustainable linkages between consumers, producers and post-harvest enterprises. LADA is designed to provide broad support to agricultural development and food security initiatives at the community and national levels in Liberia. It supports innovative partnerships with the private sector to leverage new resources that yields greater impact in development efforts. Youth internship Statement: CNFA/LADA internship program is intended for youth to gain hands-on experience on the job specifically in their areas of specialization, analyze and make decision at the work place, establish the link between education and work, develop an understanding of the workplace under the guidance of a LADA mentor, develop workplace responsibility and learn about workplace realities. Furthermore, the internship experience will allow the students to network in professional fields they are considering for career paths, and providing them the opportunity for personal professional development. Interns will be paid stipend and will have measurable and verifiable deliverables as part of their part-time employment contracts with CNFA/LADA. Interns will be evaluated during the course of the job training. program, they will receive certificates and recommendation letters from CNFA. Each intern will be enrolled into the Internship program for a period of six (6) months. CNFA/LADA is in search of qualified individuals; male/female to occupy the vacant positions of CNFA/LADA YOUTH INTERN in Bong, Nimba, Lofa & Montserrado Counties. Activities of Scope The youth interns will be tasked with key roles and responsibilities to achieve goals and objectives of the scope for the LADA activity while serving as interns. The key roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  Assist department of assignment with planning and coordination of activities in said department.  Work closely with the Gender and Youth Specialist and Youth Livelihoods Development Officer in implementing LADA activities with youth in area of assignment.  Assist in setting up and maintaining systems for recording and keeping accurate documents including meeting minutes, reports and updates.  Assist team members of assigned department in executing the day-to-day activities including tracking and documenting lesson learned from program implementation.  Assist assigned department in coordinating effective communication mechanisms among the teams.  Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports outlining key activities implemented, achievements and lessons learned during the reporting period.  Undertake any other tasks as specified by the head of the department. Deliverables This engagement will focus on key deliverables that measure the implementation of the assigned roles and responsibilities to inform CNFA/LADA on achievements during the duration of the assignment. See below:  Support provided to CNFA/LADA program team in coordinating activities with beneficiaries/clients and partners.  Support provided to Gender and Youth Specialist and Youth Livelihoods Development Officer in implementing LADA activities with youth.  Weekly, monthly and quarterly reports submitted to supervisors, detailing key activities implemented achievements and lessons learned during the reporting period. Qualifications 

No more than 35 years of age.

Be a recent university graduate or junior and/or senior student in a recognized university, college or graduate school program in a field relevant to the work of CNFA, or be a participant in a governmental or academic program sponsoring assignments of recent graduates or students. Maintain at least 2.7 GPA in your studies. Possess good oral and written communications skills and demonstrated research abilities and interests. Internet proficiency as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point and etc.) is required. Experience with the development of statistics, charts in Excel and Web 2.0 tools (especially social networking) an asset. Must specialize in a field relevant to the mission and work of CNFA, including the fields below, or other fields deemed relevant by the hiring units.  Public/Business Administration  Accounting  Project Management  Social Sciences  Statistics  Agribusiness, Science and Enterprise Development  Agricultural (Technology, Policy, Research and Biotechnology )

Timeline: The applicable deliverable timeline is six (6) months Deadline for submission of application: 22 DECEMBER 2017 at 4:00 P. M.
