2017/2018 Application Form HOW TO APPLY FOR DKIT SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016 FIRST YEAR (CAO) APPLICANTS TO THE COLLEGE Applicants for DkIT and Drogheda F.C. Soccer Scholarships should: 1. Complete all sections of this application form and return to the Student Services Office, Dundalk Institute of Technology, by no later than 12noon on Friday, 5th May 2017. 2. Apply for your DkIT chosen course through the Central Applications Office system. Confirmation of your application to CAO must accompany the Scholarship application. If you use the Change of Mind facility via CAO, you must also inform DkIT of your new DkIT course choice list. (You need only specify the DkIT courses that you have applied for.)
CAO APPLICANTS/ADVANCED ENTRY STUDENTS Applicants for DkIT and Drogheda F.C. Soccer Scholarships should: 1. Complete all sections of this application form and return to the Student Services Office, DkIT, by no later than 12noon on Friday, 5th May 2017. 2. For CAO applicants, awarding of the scholarship is subject to you being offered and accepting a place on a fulltime course at NFQ Level 6, 7 or 8 at DkIT for the academic year 2017 - 18.
The form is divided into 5 sections. Section A – Personal Details, Section B – Education Details, Section C – CAO/ DkIT course Choice Details, Section D – Specialised Sport Details, Section E – Referees. Please read carefully the following instructions before completing the form.
Closing date for receipt of application for Sports Scholarship is 12noon on Friday 5th May 2017. You will be advised of interview dates after the receipt date. Scholarships will be awarded for one academic year, 2017 – 2018, and will be renewed for the duration of the course of study subject to meeting the academic progression and soccer participation criteria concerned. Additional details may be attached to this application form Emailed/faxed copies will not be accepted Documentary evidence of awards, certificates, ID photo, etc., must accompany this application Applicants must have demonstrated exceptional soccer achievement to date and the potential to progress in the future
Scholarships awarded are subject to: Annual review. An academic mentor will be appointed to successful candidates, with whom regular contact must be maintained by the scholarship recipient.
Registration with the Sports & Societies Office at the start of each academic year and active participation with the DkIT Soccer teams including involvement with the development of a DkIT Soccer club/academy. The Successful Scholarship Applicant will be expected to act as an ambassador for the Institute in general and specifically this will include active participation in Open Days, Career Fairs and events, second level school recruitment initiatives etc.
