SPH / MA and MA2 components Technical recommendations

Fitting of sockets and plugs with flexible hoses

(other assemblies, consult us)

SPH 04 to SPH 25 / MA Check freedom of socket/plug motion after applying proper tightening torque on adaptor.

SPH 04 40

SPH 06 60

Back adaptors clamping torque in N.m at +/- 15 % SPH 08 SPH 12 SPH 15 70 80 100

SPH 20 120

Prevent any constraint from flexible hose onto socket/plug. This would cancel any motion freedom.

Lubrication Stäubli SPH socket and plug shall be lubricated with STÄUBLI G 10 lubricant. Lubrication frequency: l Non-lubricating fluid (water ...): every 5 000 manoeuvers or 6 months. l Degreasing fluid (freon, solvant, ...): please consult us.

Examples of hydraulic circuits ... 1. Principle The connection of the male plug with the female socket displaces a volume of incompressible liquid.

a/ closed circuit equipped with accumulator (value: see tables page 2).

b/ opened circuit equipped with a return to tank system Example of venting and return to tank of upstream / downstream circuits.

> flexible hoses The flexible hose should accommodate the expansion caused by the displaced fluid volume. Reinforced hoses must be avoided. > accumulator > return to tank

2. Occasional connection under pressure a/ Balanced pressure

b/ Unbalanced pressure

Requires a cylinder or connecting system which is sufficiently powerful to connect both parts together under static pressure.

Max. connecting pressure (PA = Pa): > standard version > IA version > IB version

SPH 25: SPH 04 à 20: SPH 04 à 25:

Max. connecting pressure (PA): 16 bar 160 bar 160 bar

Circuit without fluid displacement (static pressure). For example: PA = Pa = 160 bar.

> SPH 04 to 20: > SPH 25:

80 bar 10 bar

These maximum pressures must be respected to prevent O-ring blowout during connection phase. Test based on < 10 cycles. O-ring fatigue not taken into consideration.
