PRACTICE ROOM PERMITS 2017-2018 permits come into operation on Monday 11 September 2017 Practice facilities are offered, on a limited basis and subject to Music Office rules, to students, staff and graduates of all Schools in the University of Edinburgh. Access is by PERMIT issued by the Music Office. A charge of £50.00 per person per annum will be charged for Practice Room Permits. Only 100 permits are issued per year. Permits are available from Fresher’s Week. Completed forms should be handed in at the Music Office, and permits will be issued immediately. Permits will not be posted out. All users must present a permit in order to make use of the Practice Rooms. An administration charge of £2.00 will be made to replace lost cards. It is prohibited to use the following instruments in the Practice Rooms: bagpipes, electric guitars with amplifiers or amplifiers of any sort, or percussion. The Practice Rooms cannot accommodate the level of noise these instruments produce. Students wishing to practice such instruments should contact Caroline Charlton at
[email protected] to discuss booking time in the Reid Concert Hall. It may become necessary to reserve the Practice Rooms for Music Students during the period of practical examinations.
