CLASSES 2018 We are currently in the middle of crea ng our classes for 2018. Thank you to all the parents who filled in a class placement request form – there were many of you. However this has created a dilemma for us as so much of the informa on parents gave us conflicted with informa on from other parents. We would need to create 35 classes to accommodate everyone’s wishes, which is obviously not viable. We have priori sed your requests according to the learning needs of the students and are guided by the teacher’s knowledge. If we are unable to fulfil your request we will be in contact to let you know before the end of term. We are currently planning for 20 classes next year but if our enrolments drop we will need to go to plan B – 19 classes. It is extremely important to let us know if you are not returning to us in 2018, or, if you are aware of students who are intending to come here but have yet to enrol.
BEHAVIOUR As we enter the final weeks of the school year and Christmas and school holidays beckon, we are no cing that the behaviour of a small group of our students is slipping. Please con nue to remind your children about school behaviour expecta ons. We are very proud of our students and how they demonstrate our school agreements and enact our Mindset for Learning. However we will con nue to follow our Student Behaviour Educa on policy and make every a empt to contact parents when we have concerns. We want all of our students to par cipate in the end of year fes vi es.
KINDY TRANSITION This commenced on the Tuesday morning of week 4 and con nues for 4 weeks. It is always exci ng to meet next year’s recep on students and new families to Reynella Primary School. The hall was packed with lots of excited, and slightly anxious parents and their children, to hear about our school and the exci ng learning opportuni es we offer. Transi on visits give these children the opportunity to enjoy a li le me ge ng to know what it is like at school and making some friends before they start their primary schooling. We have been most impressed with our new recep on students so far and look forward to seeing them all next year.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR & BOOK CLUB A big thank you to the school community for suppor ng our recent Book Fair, which was held in the Library. We hope you were able to find some interes ng books and stocking fillers! The Book Fair held in term 4 and the Book Club each term, enable the school to earn commission on sales. We are then able to spend the commission earned on children’s books and ac vity materials, for our students and teachers. The final 2017 Issue of Book Club brochures is now available in the library. Normally we distribute these to classes each term for students to take home, but as so many families supported the Book Fair this year, we would rather you make the choice as to whether you would like a brochure. You can either collect a brochure from the library or send a message with your child to have one sent home. Orders for this issue close on the 1 December & must be made online. They will be received and distributed before the end of this term. As always there is the opportunity to flag the order as ‘gi ’ and we will let you know when to collect it, rather than give it to your child to take home. If you have any ques ons, please speak to Sharon or Wolf in the library.

Can you help in our Canteen? We have a lot of fun serving our school community in our canteen and we need more help. We need people for Fridays urgently. Any day and any amount of me would be greatly appreciated. Come and have a chat about how you can help. Deb and Amanda
