We are a year-round, competitive cheerleading, dance, and tumbling organization serving the Northern VA, DC metro area. All Star Legacy was founded in 2003 in Ashburn, VA, with only nine competitive teams. We have expanded to multiple locations, three states, and are proud of our entire program. Kyle Grussmeyer and Trisha Hart wanted to have a training facility that athletes could feel at home, grow as athletes, and one day have the same memorable competitive experience both of them had with collegiate cheer. “Never Underestimate the Power of a Dream” became the mantra and shortly after the first season the program was recognized nationwide. To this day, All Star Legacy prides itself on talent, traditions, and sportsmanship.

We are entering our 15th season at All Star Legacy. ASL is serving athletes all over the DC Metro area with locations in Ashburn (VA), Front Royal (VA) and Manassas (VA). This packet of information is created to assist you in understanding the commitment level of all families and give basic expectations of All Star Legacy.

Our mission at All Star Legacy is to enrich the lives of the athletes and their families through the sport of competitive cheerleading and dance. Our goal is to teach our athletes the value of commitment, hard work, integrity, leadership, self-confidence, positive attitude and love for the sport. Welcome to the All Star Legacy Cheer Program!

The Role of All Star Legacy Staff: ASL staff is highly trained, motivated, and committed to the overall success of your athlete, the team, and program. You can expect the following from the coaching staff at ASL: 

 

Continued Education and certifications in the cheerleading, tumbling, and dance industry

Approachable and friendly with the desire to motivate

Remain safe and realistic with the athlete progression while also challenging the athlete to reach their personal potential

Though winning is important we strive to provide a fun, memorable, positive and safe overall experience for each athlete.

Safety Measures: ASL prides itself on safety and health first. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment at all times. Proper nutrition and hydration are encouraged for optimal performance and injury prevention. To ensure safety ASL staff is





 

CPR & First Aid certified Concussion Trained

NFHS, AACCA, USASF and/or USAG Certified or Credentialed. Educated and trained to teach and spot tumbling and stunt progressions and skills per level

ASL is sufficiently prepared to respond to emergency situations with appropriate emergency response plans. We have surveillance cameras in each location to assist us with safety.

Athlete Expectations: 

PRACTICES All competitive teams will practice twice each week. Summer practices will be two weekdays. Most teams (level 2-5) will switch one of their week day practices to a Sunday during the school year.

All team members are required to attend ALL practices. Once competition season begins coaches may call extra practices as necessary. Any extra practice that is scheduled must be attended by all members of the team. This may be more typical when we are closer to an event. Reason for extra practices could be due to weather cancelation or additional preparations due to injury/illness.



PRACTICE WEAR

Practice wear will be fitted in the summer months. All in good standing will receive practice wear items. Each member is required to wear gym colors until the practice wear is given out. The correct outfit should be worn on the scheduled days. If you need additional items you can purchase them in the pro shop. 



 



Shoes MUST be worn Hair pulled back out of the face No jewelry of any kind Nails must be a reasonable length

ABSENCES

Attendance is mandatory. We will do our best to schedule practice to not conflict with high school cheerleading. We ask that families work with their high school coaches as the school season gets underway and communicate all activities in advance with ASL. www.allstarlegacy.com

Welcome to the All Star Legacy Cheer Program! Athletes that miss practices leading up to a competition or ASL event may be removed from the choreography or entire routine (valid or non-valid reasons). Athletes that miss excessive practice, whether excused or not, may be removed completely from the routine and will likely not compete. Not all athletes Valid reasons for missing practice are:  Contagious Illness (with Dr. note)  Death in Family  Submitted Vacation time

Competitions and events: All competitions and ASL events are required to attend. There is an expectation for athletes to arrive “gameday” ready. Details will be distributed specific to your team and will include but not limited to the following details. Competition Wear:

You will arrive to the competition venue with hair and makeup done! Arrive to the venue in ONLY 1) Uniform, 2) Warm Up, 3) Both

Cheer shoes only! Please do not wear flip flops or UGGS to the event. We want to look uniform as a TEAM and PROGRAM.

Hotel Accommodations: All Star Legacy will provide hotel details for majority of travel events. Some hotel recommendations are simply for convieiance, however, some events are [STAY TO PLAY] events and are required for participation in the event. In the even that we attend STAY TO PLAY events, using the provided hotels are mandatory or your athlete will not be eligible to compete in the event. We expect that you understand and agree to this stipulation. We will submit a listing of all our cheerleaders and where they are staying in order to verify they have booked through the housing company. STAY TO PLAY is a competition company requirement and we must comply to this policy as an organization.

GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION: 

Tumbling

We will provide limited tumbling instruction within practice time. We have over 40 classes offered outside of the practice times for each team. When you are member of a competition team you will receive discounted member rates for a tumble pass. Tumble passes are nonrefundable and non-transferable. However, they do not expire! We encourage all athletes to tumble as often as possible to continue to master skills.



Private Lessons

We have many private lessons that book on a monthly basis that are available to register directly on our website, www.allstarlegacy.com. If you are looking for additional private lessons, please contact us to see if we can help arrange something.



Open Gyms Open gyms are FREE to all competition members. Non-competition member can attend open gym for a $15.00 fee. Check the schedule on our website.



Conditioning

Conditioning will be a large part of our competitive team program. We encourage athletes to partake in out of gym conditioning style activities to keep them in peak condition. The best method of injury prevention is to stress proper technique, flexibility and physical condition. www.allstarlegacy.com

Property Rights Agreement / Intellectual Property

“All Star Legacy”, “Legacy”, The “new” Legacy logo, the “classic” Legacy Logo, and the “L Star” Logo are all registered federal trademarks owned by All Star Legacy. Usage of these or similar likenesses are for use or for sale in any capacity without written permission will be constituted as trademark infringement. Any violation of this agreement is trademark infringement and may result in legal action.



Outside Merchandise Sales Policy No spirit wear of any kind may be designed, purchased or distributed without prior written consent from All Star Legacy. Please follow the approval process if you are interested this type of merchandise.

All team t-shirts and spirit items will only be purchased through preapproved vendors by All Star Legacy. This does not included small goodie bag items. In addition, no solicitation of any items while on company property or events will be allowed.



Valuables in the Gym It is not possible to monitor valuables brought into the facility. Please leave valuables at home or with your parents. All Star Legacy is not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or left items. www.allstarlegacy.com

Payment policy

All contracts are to be current. If you fall behind in a payment plan your athlete may be sat out of practice until the account become current. It is important that you aware of your bill and if it becomes outstanding. Late fees will be applied to all accounts that are late. The late fee is $35.00 per monthly late occurrence. 



CODE OF CONDUCT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM

I will not be involved in any matter of disrespect towards any members of All Star Legacy staff, parents or athletes.

Anyone threatening to quit or pull their child from a team may be dismissed from the program immediately without refund.

I understand that all athletes are required to wear the appropriate practice attire to every practice. If not in proper wear may be required to purchase items and applied to ASL acct.

I understand the coaches reserve the right to suspend any athlete’s or parent’s participation in activities at All Star Legacy or All Star Legacy activities as disciplinary action.

I will not design, purchase, distribute or sell any clothing, bows, or other items without prior written consent from ownership. This includes team shirts and spirit items or be subject to legal action if needed. I will not participate in negative gossip or communications that adversely affect All Star Legacy. This includes but is not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. I will maintain and/or improve the skills I performed at tryouts with hard work and dedication. I will not hold or threaten to hold my child from practice or competition as a form of punishment. I will conduct myself with respect and integrity, displaying positive sportsmanship at all times.

I understand all athletes at All Star Legacy are expected to arrive at practices, events, and competition on time with a positive attitude and give their best effort. I will not use inappropriate language.

I understand it is sometimes necessary for athletes to be moved from one team to another. I understand that being a team member does not entitle me to compete at every event.

I understand that the parent viewing area should be a positive atmosphere, and I may be prohibited from using the parent viewing area if I cannot maintain a positive attitude while there.

I understand that my monthly billing statement is emailed to me as a courtesy. Whether I receive it or not, I am still obligated to make my payments on time. If my billing information changes, it is my responsibility to notify [email protected] or call 703.444.6002 I understand this is a 12 month commitment I am making. I will honor my commitment.

I understand that if I quit or I am removed from the program, I will not be entitled to a refund of any kind. This includes all monies paid to All Star Legacy including pre-paid expenses.

Cheerleaders, parents, family and friends are never allowed to contact competition companies or their officials for any reason.

I have read and agreed to the rules and regulations information for 2017-2018 All Star Legacy season.
