2017 CALENDAR OF SPECIAL EVENTS EVENTS ARE FOR OLDER ADULTS (50 AND OVER) ONLY! Listed below are city wide special events for 2017. We are currently taking reservations for all events. Don't wait too long to reserve tickets as many events fill up quickly. Phone reservations are REQUIRED to reserve your ticket(s). If you make reservations and are unable to sell your tickets please let us know as soon as possible. We always have a waiting list! TRANSPORTATION TO & FROM THESE EVENTS IS PROVIDED FOR GROUPS OF 15 OR MORE. For additional information or ticket reservations, please call 410-396-2920. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR! FEBRUARY 24, 2017 - “Heart” Felt Musical Memories Patterson Park Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. February is Heart Health Month! Join us for health screenings and information. Line dance down memory lane with us as we honor those talented musicians from days gone by. COST: $15.00 and includes tee-shirts, group transportation, lunch, dancing and entertainment. MARCH 30, 31 AND APRIL 7, 2017 – FRIENDLY FARM LUNCHEON AND BINGO - PRICE: $45.00 includes family style fried chicken & ham with all the trimmings, meal gratuity and group transportation. Delicious baked goods are available for purchase. Following lunch, we will play Bingo for prizes downstairs. There is no elevator – you must go down steps or walk outside and around the building to the Bingo area! MONEY DUE BY: MARCH 6TH MARCH 29, 2017 – TRIP TO SIGHT & SOUND THEATRE TO SEE “JONAH” an epic story of obedience and second chances. Sight & Sound’s (Lancaster, Pennsylvania) presentation features a cast of 48 actors, live animals, a 50-foot-long boat, and an underwater world of glowing jelly fish, coral reefs, and a gigantic whale. From the moment you walk into the theatre and experience the incredible sets, costumes, lighting, seamless transitions, immersive scenes and special effects, you’ll be on the edge of your seat, and in the heart of the action. The show begins at 11 a.m. Following the show we will have a buffet luncheon at HERSHEY FARMS (cost of lunch on your own). MONEY IS DUE NOW – LIMITED SEATING! COST: $91.00 INCLUDES SHOW TICKET & MOTOR COACH TRANSPORTATION ONLY! APRIL 3, 2016 – “BOWLING - IT’S TIME TO STRIKE IT UP!” Lots of fun, friends and fellowship at WOODLAWN LANES, 6410 Security Boulevard (21207). Come enjoy some ten pin bowling where we will be having a “rock and rolling” good time from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. PRICE: $20.00 includes two games of bowling, shoes and group transportation from designated senior sites. You can purchase refreshments on your own. MONEY DUE BY: MARCH 14TH APRIL 10, 2017 – SENIOR PROM - Join the staff and children from Virginia S. Baker Recreation Center and Living Classroom Foundation for a SENIOR PROM from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Put your prom best on and come enjoy food, music, dancing and party the afternoon away. The prom will be held at Patterson Park Recreation Center located at 2601 E. Baltimore Street (21224) in Patterson Park. The students will serve lunch & refreshments, take photographs and dance with you. Music will be provided by the Charm City Band. TICKETS: $20.00 Includes group transportation from designated sites. APRIL 26, 2017 – MYSTERY TRIP to the surrounding area of Adams County, Pennsylvania. Luncheon will be an AL DENTE ITALIAN BUFFET with minestrone soup, salads, breads, pasta, vegetables, etc. including dessert (tiramisu and assorted biscotti), coffee, hot and iced tea. This trip has VERY limited seating and based on “FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.” PRICE: $75.00 - INCLUDES motor coach bus, buffet luncheon, luncheon gratuity and mystery visits along the way. MAY 12, 2017 - “A DAY AT THE RACES” AT PIMLICO RACE TRACK We just met with Pimlico Management and this year will THE BEST! PRICE: $46.00 includes admission, delicious BUFFET luncheon served in the Sports Palace, Pimlico pocket racing program, & group transportation. TIME: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come cheer on your favorite horses! Take a walk to the paddock to get a first-hand look at the horses and their jockeys. If weather permitting, sit outside in the grandstand and enjoy the nice spring breeze after lunch. MENU: Fresh Fruit Salad, Chicken Francaise, Blackened Atlantic Salmon, Oven Roasted Herb Potatoes, Orange Honey Glazed Carrots, Rolls and butter and assorted cakes and pies, coffee, hot and iced tea. MONEY DUE BY: APRIL 28TH MAY 16, 2017 – OUTLET SHOPPING AT REHOBOTH BEACH TANGER OUTLETS Get some great bargains in Delaware where there is no sales tax! On Tuesday, some stores offer a senior discount. Our favorite store, Vanity Fair is there along with many others. The outlet stores are spread out in a very large shopping area. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DO A LOT OF WALKING. We will leave Baltimore around 7 a.m. and return by 6 p.m. PRICE: $40.00 includes motor coach transportation only. Lunch is on your own at one of the many eateries in the outlet area. MONEY DUE BY: MAY 5TH MAY 31, 2017 – “MOVIN’ AND GROOVIN’ FOR GOOD HEALTH” SENIOR FITNESS DAY at Patterson Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. “GET YOUR GROOVE ON” and your sneakers and join us for a walk around the boat lake. The day will include line dancing, games, a picnic lunch and other fun activities guaranteed to keep you moving! THIS IS A HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAM – PLEASE COME PREPARED TO JOIN IN! PRICE: $17.00 includes tee shirt, picnic lunch, group transportation and prizes awarded during the afternoon. MONEY DUE BY: MAY 11TH JUNE 8, 2017 – “SPIRIT OF BALTIMORE” LUNCHEON CRUISE – PRICE: $56.00 Enjoy a delicious SPIRIT buffet luncheon. Menu includes assorted salads, broccoli, creamed corn, baked ziti, mashed potatoes, baked sole, honey sesame chicken, pork loin and for desert, fruit, cannoli’s, cheesecake, chocolate cake and apple cobbler. Coffee, tea & iced tea included. We will board the ship at the Light Street Inner Harbor Promenade at 11 a.m. and cruise to the Key Bridge (weather permitting). The luncheon menu includes “all you can eat” steamed crabs, fried chicken, shrimpies, clam strips, homemade hush puppies and fresh local corn on the cob steamed right in the husk. Enjoy a sing-a-long featuring Dixieland and swing music. We will stop at a local produce stand on the way home to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. AUGUST 29, 2017 – SENIOR SPLASH DAY AT PATTERSON PARK POOL - Come have some fun in the sun! There will be water aerobics and games and you will even get a chance to paddle a canoe! MONEY DUE BY: AUGUST 7TH SEPTEMBER 19 & 20, 2017 - SHOPPING TRIP TO PRIME OUTLETS IN QUEENSTOWN WITH LUNCH AT FISHERMAN’S CRAB DECK – PRICE: $73.00 - Travel with us on motor coach buses to the Prime Outlets for some morning shopping featuring our favorite discount store, Vanity Fair. THE OUTLET STORES ARE SPREAD OUT IN A VERY LARGE SHOPPING AREA. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO DO SOME WALKING. After shopping we’ll lunch at the Fisherman’s Crab Deck known for their delicious seafood served in a casual waterside atmosphere. CHARM CITY BAND will be providing musical entertainment. OCTOBER 18, 2017 — Back by popular demand! “DREAMGIRLS” at Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Columbia, MD. Set in the 1960’s, a time in American musical history when what is now called rhythm and blues blended with other styles of popular music creating a new American sound. The story of the new beat of the countless girl and boy groups (like the Supremes, Shirelles and Temptations) and of the dream of making it big in show business and all that comes with it including the heartache, the breakups and the triumphs.
