Description

An established brand within the retail industry is seeking to hire a permanent experienced QA Test Manager.

Direct into the Head Of IT Development Responsible for permanent Test Leads and Test Analyst performance and general day to day managing of the QA rd team. Also to manage any 3 party or contracting testing resource.

The Test Manager will execute testing and release management within a mixed estate of development environments where primary focus will be on ERP, e-Commerce and in store technologies (ePOS, Mobile device tec.).

Responsibilities

Liaise with PM's, BA's, consultants and developers to identify and assess new development or configuration tasks with the functions and objects affecting them. Maintain ERP object trackers both in terms of adding new objects and functions where the changes have been transported to production. Identify objectives and functions usage contentions. Arrange meetings between PM's, BA's, consultants, developers and IT servers that have contention, agreeing and documenting action plan. Attending CAB to support the project delivery and ensure the smooth transition through the SDLC. Interfaces with all areas affected by CAB changes including suppliers, IT services and various business departments. Oversees/coordinates all aspects of the project change and test environmental requirements. Plans, conducts and directs the release and test environment analysis. Monitors the project SW release from initiation through to delivery ensuring full interaction with customer on all matters providing status reports as necessary. Assess project risks, issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity quality and delivery goals. Escalate test and/or release contention issues to the Head of IT Projects. Ensure that test environments are maintained and remain "Fit for purpose" for the programme of project deliverables. Deliver and maintain internal "Best Practice" for software release and test management processes. Act as a single point of contact for project delivery to the Head of IT Projects. Maintain strong relationship with IT services relating to software release and change to ensure smooth transition. Mentoring and training of internal testing resources. Organising testing phases of different projects in conjunction with the PM. Organising, recruiting extra resource when required. Self-organising, achieves tasks without constant monitoring. Manageability; takes direction and provides proactive and constructive support. Expectations, manages PM and delivery expectations to ensure project success. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of SDLC. Good understanding of at least 1 ERP solution. Ability to work as part of a team. Good technical knowledge and experience of server and data storage environments. Ability to prioritise workload in light of fluctuating business requirements. Strong organisation, multi-tasking and time management skills. Already holding a release/test management/test lead role. Proven ability in relationship building and influencing skills in a business and IT environment. ISTQB/ISEB Foundation in Software Testing.

Experience of ERP, SAP BW and SAP PI. Sharepoint technologies. EPOS Systems (Retail-J) experience. HHT Stock Management System. Systems development languages, tools and techniques. Test Management tools and techniques. Good understanding of the requirements analysis, definition and specification process. ISEB Practitioner Level. Team player/ Collaborative. Good commination skills.
