Pitch In - As you are aware we are blessed with excellent sports facilities at St Peters High School that benefit the whole school community during the day & are hired by partner organisations in the evenings & at the weekends. These facilities have hours of use each year & need to be maintained to the highest of standards. Our current synthetic surface pitch is now in its 15 year of use & requires refurbishment. Over the past few months we have been working with Nott's Sports on an exciting new project which involves replacing the carpet on our existing synthetic pitch & the design & build of a new 3G synthetic pitch. This would be an amazing addition to our sports facilities and would give us state of the art synthetic surfaces for Hockey, Rugby and Football solving the age old problem of unplayable grass pitches throughout the winter months. This is an ambitious forward thinking project for us to undertake to which demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our pupils with the best possible learning environments for them to unlock their potential. This project will also provide a Sports Hub in the south of the city open to the wider community allowing opportunities for our pupils to use these facilities after school hours. For this project to be realised we need to raise capital funds. We are hoping to achieve this through sponsorship from local business and donations from our school and wider community. If you feel you can contribute to this project please visit our just giving page www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/stpeterspitchin Concert Supporting the Grenfell Tower Emergency Appeal: The Cotswold Male Voice Choir and Loveny Male Voice Choir, from Cornwall, are joining forces to stage a concert in Gloucester Guildhall at 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd July. Sung Vespers At Tintern Abbey: The annual ecumenical service of evening prayer at Tintern Abbey (Tintern, Chepstow, Gwent, NP16 6SE) takes place this year at 3.00pm on Sunday 3rd September. People from all backgrounds and denominations will join together in the timeless service of Vespers, which would have been sung in a similar way at the Abbey before the Reformation. The speaker this year is the Rt Reverend Dom Paul Stonham OSB, Abbot of Belmont. If the weather is fine there is no more pleasant way to spend an afternoon in the beautiful Wye Valley! Please bring a folding chair. Entry to the Abbey is free for those attending the service. For further information, please contact the Friends of Our Lady of Tintern on 01594 530612.
